March 27 - 10:30 pm

We've had a great evening visiting with Aunt Tif and Aunt Gayle. I took them on a tour of the hospital and the way back to Spencer's room we stopped and picked up the mail. Finally the packages from Grandpa Larry arrived along with several cards and even a few care packages from friends from school. Spencer was thrilled! After a dinner of soft shell chicken tacos we went for a walk around the halls and then settled him in the chair to watch TV. We also talked to Rod tonight and he and Chayse are doing very well. Rod went to Bearcat football practice and was overwhelmed by the kindness shown to him by the coaches and players. Many even asked to pray with him for Spencer! It's no wonder we have such an awesome football team! We pray God's grace and protection over every one of them. May God continue to bless each and every one of you as well as our beloved Bearcats! Good night and God bless!

March 27 - 3:00 pm

Dr. Razzouk was just in and said it would be best for us to wait until tomorrow to be discharged to outpatient status. Spencer is receiving platelets now and enjoying visiting with Aunt Tif and Aunt Gayle. Dr Razzouk has also decided to do a bone marrow on Thursday when they are doing the IT therapy since he will be asleep anyway. By doing so, it will enable the doctors to see if there is leukemia cells still in the bone marrow. We continue to pray and believe for a quick healing that would even astound the doctors!

March 27 - 1:50 pm

Dr. Rachael was just in and said Spencer's platelets are at 19. Dr. Razzouk likes to transfuse at 20, so Spencer will receive platelets this afternoon. By then the results from the stool culture should be ready and we'll know for sure what's causing the diarrhea  Like I said earlier, Dr. Razzouk thinks it's a reaction to an antibiotic, but wants to make sure. With all that said, there is a possibility we may not get discharged today after all.  If not today then soon. We are at peace knowing God is STILL in control! I'll let you know when I find out!

March 27 - 11:30 am

Well, good news! Dr. Rachael was just in and asked if we were ready fly this coop! Of course we are, but are not going to leave until later, as Spencer is still very tired. Besides, we think we can use the help of Aunt Tif and Aunt Gayle when they get here! Isn't God so good? He knew we would need help and waited until today for that help to arrive. Dr. Razzouk stopped by earlier and wants to do a culture on his "output" just to make sure it's not a reaction to one of the antibiotics or a possible infection. We are so thankful for the doctors who cover all the bases. So, prayer warriors, that means we really need to pray for no infections and that we get to stay outpatient for longer than 4 hours! It would be wonderful to be outpatient from here on out. God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we could ever ask or think! Praise His Name Forevermore!

March 27 - 10:00 am

Spencer is finally getting some well deserved sleep! The doctors, nurses, and techs have all made their rounds and have stopped poking and prodding him for awhile. I hope he is well rested and ready when Aunt Tif and Aunt Gayle arrive. I need to get cleaned up and make sure I'm at the mail desk to pick up the mail when it opens at 10:30am! Spencer is really looking forward to receiving Grandpa Larry's packages, as well as all the cards from our many well wishers.

March 27 - 5:45 am

It's been a long night with little sleep as Spencer continues battling with the after effects of the laxative. The nurse is giving him Benedryl and we're praying it takes away the itching and helps him sleep. He's already had a bath, cleaned his ears, clipped his toe nails, and done his mouth treatment, so we're set to get some much needed sleep this morning. We hope to be rested before Aunt Tif and Aunt Gayle get here this afternoon. We are both really looking forward them coming! We continue to praise Jesus for Spencer's healing and His unending grace!
