We never got around to playing cards, but with
the encouragement from the nurse, did get Spencer to take a short walk
around the halls. She was telling him about a couple of other teen aged boys
and was really encouraging him to meet them. Spencer is just not a social
butterfly and is feeling uncomfortable making the first move. I know in time
as he gets more comfortable being here, he will make friends and want to get
out of the room more. Right now we are really enjoying just being together.
We've watched a few movies today and, of course, took turns on the computer.
Now that we have Rod out of the mix, we get more time on it! Just kidding,
Babe! We still love you! Speaking of Rod, he has called several times today
and said he has really enjoyed catching up with everyone back in the 'Ville.
He and Chayse went to church and really enjoyed the sermon as well as
fellowshipping with our church family. He is also enjoying spending time
with Chayse again. Only four more days until we see both of them again! And
only one more day until we see Aunt Tiffany and Aunt Gayle!
Once again, the Barr family appreciates you all
so much for all the prayers and support you've given to us. We know our
Heavenly Father will bless each and every one of you back 100 fold for the
blessing you've been to us! God bless you all and good night!
March 26 - 7:00 pm
Spencer has had a good day! He spent quite a bit
of time playing Roller Coaster Tycoon and even got on his email and answered
some overdo emails from his friends. We watched one of our favorite movies
on TV, Remember the Titans. Right now he is eating chicken strips and french
fries and we have an ice cream bar in the freezer for later. The laxative is
wearing down and the sores in his mouth are getting better as well as his
tongue. Not sure what we'll do this evening. Can't seem to talk him to
walking yet, but I'm still working on it! Some friends sent some card games,
so maybe I'll take him on in Crazy Eights! We are looking forward to Aunt
Tiffany and Aunt Gayle coming sometime tomorrow! They are planning on
staying a couple of nights with us. We pray for traveling mercies for them
as they travel from Joplin. Have a great evening and I'll try to write
another update before bedtime! That is if the server stays up long enough to
do so!
March 26 - 2:40 pm
Hopefully, I won't overwrite what Cathy posts
again. We have posted a few pictures from the first week of Spencer's stay
at St. Jude's in the Photo Gallery.
March 26 - 12:00 pm
We received a good report from the doctors this
morning! The results from the spinal tap show that the spinal fluid is free
from abnormal cells. We appreciate all that Dr. Razzouk, Dr. Racheal and Dr.
Howard are doing to help Spencer overcome. The doctors said Spencer would
remain an inpatient for a while longer and that helps to comfort Cathy as
she appreciates all that the nurses do in helping care for Spence!
March 26 - 7:00 am
Spencer had good night of rest. At least he
wasn't running back and forth to the bathroom all night. He woke around 6:00
and complained about his eyes bothering him. The nurse put some saline in
and that has seemed to help. We are looking forward to watching the WOLC
services online later this morning!
