March 24 - 9:30 pm

Just like Pastor Brian said "Do life now with the big three, faith, hope and love. This is not a rehearsal." We were blessed by the WOLC Friday night service online. Spencer continues to have a fever and his tongue is very swollen. His attitude this evening is very good and we are very proud of how is handling this trying time. He is so brave and courageous. Spencer is my hero! Continue to pray that the fever ceases and his tongue returns to normal.

March 24 - 4:00 pm

As we sit here in the room this afternoon listening to music online, we know God is in control. Even when things don't go quite the way we want them to go, we know that God is forever faithful.

God gave this song to us early in the journey and we continue to believe it.

This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith and determination

Don't lose the vision here
Carried away by emotion
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the world together

God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control, oh God is in control

History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan
Oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

He has never let you down
Why start to worry now?
He is still the Lord of all we see
And He is still the loving Father
Watching over you and me

watching over you...watching over me..
watching over every things..
watching over you..watching over me..
every little sparrow..every little things...

March 24 - 2:45 pm

With the assistance of some pain killers, Spencer is resting well this afternoon. The doctors feel that the sores in his mouth (mucositis) are a reaction to the chemo treatments that he received. Nothing that surprises them and they say it is very common after chemo treatments. The good news is that his body will regenerate those cells and with the help of antibiotics, they should start getting better in the next couple of days. We are staying the course and keeping our eyes on God! Looking forward to watching the WOLC service online tonight!

March 24 - 11:00 am

The fever is gone, praise God! They have taken a culture and sent it to the lab to see if they can find the cause of the discomfort to Spencer's tongue. We are asking that you pray specifically against the pain in Spencer's mouth. We know that God is the healer of all things and our faith will not waiver!

March 24 - 9:00 am

Good news, Spencer's fever is normal! This is the first time since coming back last night that it has been normal. They will be giving him some Benadryl to reduce the swelling in his tongue and rule out the possibility of a allergic reaction to one of the new oral antibiotics he took last night.

March 24 - 8:30 am

The joy of the Lord is our strength. Spencer continues to run a 101 degree fever this morning. In addition, his tongue is sore and a bit swollen making it a bit difficult to talk. It is just like the devil to try and steal our joy but we shall overcome. At least we had had four great hours over at the Grizzly House!

Peace be to this household. Luke 10:5

March 24 - 12:15 am

The first round in Spencer's life as an outpatient was short-lived. At 9:30, Spencer started running a temperature of 101. With the temp, we made a trip to the medicine room and he has been admitted back into the hospital. We are believing that the cause of the fever is the chemo and not a bacterial infection. Spencer is handling this very well and was smiling when he found out that he was returning to the same room he was in. The highlight of the night for Spencer was opening the basketball cards that we purchased him and finding a Michael Jordan jersey card. God continues to bless Spence even in the small things. Cathy is a trouper. She handling administering his antibiotic through Spencer's line with flying colors!
