PETITION
March 22 - 6:45 pm
We are learning that patience is a virtue. After
going through training of flushing the line and administering antibiotics,
we were ready to go to outpatient status. Blood platelets that were ordered
at 6:00 am am this morning were administered around 5:00 pm this evening.
Spencer is now receiving his final chemo treatment in round one. He will not
receive another chemo treatment for a few days but will come for clinics in
the hospital daily. Due to the fact that the last chemo dropped at 6:00 pm
takes six hours to complete, Spencer will become an outpatient tomorrow
morning as soon as he wakes up. It's all in God's timing! Although we have a
delay, Spencer is in great spirits and making plans for tomorrow
March 22 - 1:00 pm
Marcus and Kirby are now on their way home. We
pray for their safe trip! What a blessing they were! I talked
Kirby's leg off last night and Marcus and Spencer had a great morning. I am
so glad they were here when we got the news we would be going to Grizzly
House. As soon as we know what time we are making the move, we will post the
phone number to our room. Pray specifically against infection as he is
moving out into the real world.
March 22 - 11:30 am
Wow, what a great report! We just received word
from Dr. Rachael that Spencer gets to go to outpatient over to the Grizzly
House later this afternoon, that is if mom and dad pass the test of
administering the antibiotics. The pressure is on! We were not expecting it,
but we will accept God's graciousness. Yashana! As for the PS2 update,
Marcus thinks that I need to practice a lot. I can't type exactly what he
said but I am get am getting abused. We will come back to the clinic daily
but at least Spencer won't have to look at the hospital walls tomorrow.
March 22 - 10:20 am
Spencer is awake and feeling well this morning.
Praise God! Marcus and he are spending some quality time visiting, laughing
and playing PS2. Spencer is making of fun of how bad I am at PS2 so I know
he is feeling pretty good. Way to go Ole Miss! They won 8-5. C.J Ketchum,
Joplin, hit a double in the ninth! Way to go Rebels! Spencer remains
undefeated in NCAA Baseball as he downs Marcus, 9-6.
March 22 - 8:00 am
We just found out that Spencer will be receiving
platelets today which we knew would happen sooner or later. He is resting in
comfort and must be enjoying his dream since I have seen a grin or two while
he is sleeping.
March 22 - 7:30 am
This afternoon will start the final treatment in the first series of the
protocol. Glory to God that Spencer continues to have minimal side effects.
He had a very good night of rest and hopefully will be ready for a few hours
of quality time with Marcus this morning. We are awaiting the results of the
bloodwork and will post them later this morning. With Kirby Morrison
bringing the van down, we now have wheels. It was a great feeling to run out
to Subway last night after leaving the hospital. Even though I didn't get a
sandwich, it was just great to get out (and it didn't cost a $60 cab fare,
yeah!). This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be
glad in it!
