Gnader had a MRI yesterday.  Be interesting to see how that comes out.

Or is Mel being on the cover of Touchdown Illustrated the equivalent to the EA NFL game jinx. Or that he's next to Turner Gill on the cover a bad omen?

Could it be that our beloved Bearcats are wearing their Championship rings the same way as Bobby Bearcat?
If you saw Bobby you know what I mean... LOL.

Week 1 not very impressed.

Could not run the ball consistently or at all.
Bolles very erratic - couldn't pull the trigger and when he did he couldn't hit some wide open people.
Not impressed with offensive coaches making adjustments to stop the blitz and when they tried we couldn't execute.
O line needs to get it together
Defense played pretty well for being on the field a long time but needs to get more pressure on QB to help out DB's.
Too many mistakes in scoring situations really cost us the game even though we played poorly.
Bolles needs to rollout more and run the ball to keep the D honest.

We have 2 weeks to get it together

I know that last year on Thursday nights after the coaches show, AD & Bostwick would break down tape with the crowd at Caron's. Anybody know if they are going to do that again this year?

Go to www.northwestbearcats.com and scroll thru topics to find coaches show. Click and it will take you to a connection. There is one from friday after the game Thursday. It is underwritten by HY VEE. A quicker link would be www.kxcv.org/sports/coach.htm

Does anyone know if Mel is going to do the radio show on Thursday nights again this year? I always enjoyed the coaches show after the radio part at Carson's where the coaches gave a brief breakdown of tape for the upcoming game. Hope they are going to continue that this year.

It's not a good sign when 5 different running backs rotate through out the game.  I think the NW offense was fairly predictable Thursday night.  Our running game looked like an after thought, throwing in a token run here and there.  The TAMUK defense was able to primarily defend a one dimensional offense = 7 sacks.
Lets hope they all start playing with the passion Baker displayed.

+1 Watched TAMUK send weak side corner blitzs at will all night. Overloaded the line and we got caught with no one to block the blitz. And we never did anything to keep the D honest. They took the route of disrupting the passing game. And we insisted on pushing the passing game.
